This EWRI/ASCE Standard guideline provides several techniques and guidance for use in developing quality assurance requirements for specifying fine-pore aeration equipment. Three methods for specifying compliance testing are described, including information on appropriate applications, advantages and disadvantages of each method, and the procedures.
Quality assurance benefits all parties involved in the manufacture, specification, and use of aeration equipment. For the manufacturer, standardized quality assurance should reduce the number of indefinite or unrealistic specifications and enhance the probability of achieving unequivocal specifications and improved understanding between supplier and user.

Operating costs for the two systems are the same as calculated before. No capital costs are incurred for the existing coarse bubble system. The new fine pore system can use the existing blowers, instrumentation and control equipment, and above- water air piping.
Capital costs for diffusers, below- water air piping. Provides several techniques and guidance in developing quality assurance requirements for specifying fine-pore aeration equipment. Three methods for specifying compliance testing are described, including information on appropriate applications, advantages and disadvantages of each method, and the procedures to be followed.
Guidelines for Quality Assurance of Installed Fine-Pore Aeration Equipment standard by American Society of Civil Engineers, 01/01/ Abstract. The supply of oxygen for aeration is the single largest energy consumer at activated sludge wastewater treatment plants, representing 50–90% of total plant energy requirements (1, 2).
Replacement of less-efficient aeration systems with fine pore aeration devices can save up to 50% of aeration energy costs and has resulted in typical Cited by: 2.
